Start or Stop Services

Sewer service and billing begin when the Authority’s inspector signs the connection permit acknowledging proper connection of the property to the sewer system. When the connection is approved, an initial prorated bill is provided for the number of days in the billing period the property is connected to the system.

When an existing property is sold or other ownership is transferred, the purchaser and /or the seller shall promptly notify the Authority of the sale. Billing for sewer service shall be prorated at settlement based on the number of days in the billing period each party owned the property.

After connection to the sewer system, service cannot be discontinued unless the property has been razed and the service is to be abandoned. In such case, the lateral sewer shall be capped by the property owner and must be inspected by the Authority before backfilling.
