West Hempfield finalizes sale of sewer system to Lancaster Area Sewer Authority (LASA)
On June 30, 2017, LASA and West Hempfield Township closed on LASA’s purchase of the West Hempfield Township bulk sanitary sewer system and its sanitary sewer customers in the Klinesville, Heatherbank and Ironville areas of the Township, which includes approximately 295 residential customers. The purchase price was $276,663.00. The LASA rate after closing will be $91.86 per quarter.
West Hempfield Township will officially notify customers concerning billing and customer service around July 7, 2017, informing them of the change in ownership and advising them they will be getting a bill from LASA around September for a 5-month period (July 1 through November 30). After that, these customers will be in a normal LASA quarterly billing cycle.
